Ben’s Plaice, the award-winning fish and chip shop in Looe, have opened a subsidiary takeaway in Millbrook! This shop will be open all year around to serve local residents, but will also provide a much-needed takeaway service to tourists and residents in surrounding areas of Cawsand, Kingsand and the Rame Peninsula, plus HMS Raleigh.

Yes. If you wish to pre-order for collecting at a certain time, please call us on 01752 822277. We do not have a delivery service at present.
Does your menu cater for different dietary needs?
We include gluten-free, vegetarian and a few vegan options. Keep an eye on our specials too, where we try to cater for all requirements.
Can I park outside Ben’s Plaice Millbrook?
You will find on-street parking available in the vicinity of the shop, when you visit to collect your fish and chips etc. in Millbrook.

After making the decision to expand our business and open a 2nd shop to serve our famous fish and chips in Millbrook, we received messages from a multitude of ecstatic potential customers in anticipation of our opening day. With a reputation that precedes us, we are delighted to bring our traditional fish and chips menu; very popular items such as our burgers (loaded with a choice of toppings) plus our specials menu with great-value deals, to the village.
Our fish and chip shop has so much more to offer than a regular chippy. Follow our Facebook page, where we regularly post details of our specials board which we aim to change on a weekly basis. If the sound of jalapeno poppers; bargain boxes with 1/2 a kilo of boneless chicken tenders with chips and gravy; garlic mushrooms or dirty fries topped with beef brisket and nacho cheese takes your fancy, Ben’s Plaice has you covered!
Local Cornish Suppliers
Using local suppliers is vital, both to help the community, and to keep the Cornish economy alive. The majority of seafood we buy is sourced from local fisheries and is MSC certified. We only use the best Icelandic Cod from deep waters, as it is the highest quality available. A local farm in Downderry supplies us with seasonal potatoes for our chips. The award-winning Philip Warren Butchers in Launceston provides us with our exceptional dry-aged steak burgers.
Desserts such as cheesecakes and seasonal sweet treats regularly make an appearance on the specials menu, and are baked on-site. A range of cold, soft drinks can also be purchased. Why not pop in to see us and place your order, or alternatively, you can pre-order via telephone for collection at a requested time.

Thought we’d try the new chippy at Millbrook on our way home for Cawsand beach. Loads to choose from on the menu! Not your average Fish & Chip shop, all the same we had fish & chips. Really tasty, great portion size & good value for money. Can’t wait to try some of the other bits on the menu.

Had fish and chips all over Cornwall including the ‘Padstow’ special. Such a seemingly simple dish so easily spoiled……not at Bens Plaice. Bloody sublime. Not going to identify which part, batter, chips how fresh the fish etc…. just all of it ……sublime. Get yerself to Millbrook….worth the trip….
