Ben’s Plaice made a name for itself in the Cornish seaside town of Looe, where it was voted 2nd best Chip Shop in Cornwall in 2023! Due to its success, we have now opened a subsidiary takeaway in Millbrook, which is easily accessible to residents and holidaymakers alike, on the Rame Peninsula, including Cawsand, Kingsand and the Naval Barracks at Raleigh.

As we do not currently operate a delivery service, you can call us on 01752 822277 to pre-order your meals for collection at an agreed time.

There are foods available for those with gluten-free, veggie or vegan dietary needs. We also consider this when choosing our weekly specials and deals.
Is there a Car Park at Ben’s Plaice, Millbrook?
No, we do not have a car park. However, there is plenty of street parking in the area, so you shouldn’t have any issues visiting us.

Although proud to serve the traditional fish and chips with our signature light and crispy batter, we cook so much more! Ben’s Plaice is well-known for the variety of choices we offer. You may fancy fish and chips in Cawsand, but your family may have other preferences. How about a loaded dry-aged steak burger, with a choice of toppings, or other tasty treats from our weekly specials’ menu?

Imagine a day on Cawsand beach, finished off with delicious garlic mushrooms; a juicy chicken stack; jalapeno poppers; delicate monkfish; scallops; dirty duck fries, or mushy pea fritters, followed by a delectable double chocolate brownie.
Supporting Local Communities – Fish and Chips in Cawsand
It is so important to help keep the economy in Cornwall alive. To this end, at Ben’s Plaice, we try to source as much food as possible from local suppliers. Our chips are made from potatoes sourced from a local farm in Downderry. The award-winning butchers, Philip Warren in Launceston, supplies the best beefy, dry-aged steak burgers. We take care to purchase most of our fish from local fisheries in Looe, although our cod is Icelandic, as it is fished in deep waters and is the best quality.
Mouth-watering desserts such as cheesecakes are often seen on our specials board, and we have freshly baked brownies, with ‘flavours of the week’ being extremely popular. Hot and cold drinks are available. We look forward to meeting you in our shop!
